Swimming through COVID-Showing at the Starlight Cafe in downtown Greenville, North Carolina
This body of work was made during COVID. I began it in August of 2020 and finished in September 2021. The work reflects not only my journey into mixed media/painting, but also my love and concern for the ocean and the planet. I chose this subject matter because the oceans, rivers and lakes hold many species which naturally live together in a sustainable community. However, these same precious places can be threatened by over-fishing, pollution, disease, and man-made interference in the natural world. These pieces express the importance of community to sustain us through hardships like this pandemic which we all have endured.
